ABOUT ME

With a background in various creative disciplines from oil painting to landscape architecture, I believe in emphasizing content before style and in blurring the lines between art, design, and illustration. Engaging graphic design often has elements of illustration, and effective illustration begins with a strong understanding of design. I approach these disciplines not as separate pursuits, but as a spectrum of skills and tools that work together to solve problems and communicate ideas.

My experience working in a range of creative fields has fueled my love of problem solving, collaborative and cross-disciplinary design, and balancing the conceptual and the practical—all of which I apply to the visual puzzle that is graphic design. Through my work I aim to bring beauty, order, and clarity to visual storytelling.
